Homemade Black Bean Sauce

Make your own black bean sauce to add to your dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh gingerroot
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated Orange Zest
  • A pinch of chilli flakes (or more if you like a kick)
  • 1 garlic clove grated
  • ​1 tablespoon low/no salt soy sauce

Method

Grate the ginger, garlic and orange rind and add the chilli flakes.

Place the black beans with liquid into a small sauce pan, add the spices and soy sauce.

Bring to a boil, then turn the heat down to simmer for around 20 minutes or until thickened and the liquid has reduced.

Once cooked, add to your stir fry, then add your noodles, mix together and serve.
